What I want to know is where was Calvin Woodward when Obama had his books ghost-written by Bill Ayers? Where was the press investigating the background of Obama as he was campaigning for the presidency? Where is the press today when it comes to telling the truth about the Czars? Where is the press today when it comes to explaining to the American people what this Obamacare entails in costs, in disruption, and in truth?

The answer is obvious: The press is nowhere to be found. Why? Because they are in bed with Obama. Hannity calls it the "Obama mania media". I call it something worse - I can't say it here.

The press is supposed to be for the people - not for special interest groups and the president no matter who he is. The press is supposed to be the truth teller, the eyes of the people keeping watch so that our form of government works. But the press has abdicated, shamelessly. They have become nothing more than prostitutes in Obama's pimp stables. The Rev Manning is correct when he refers to Obama as the "long-leffed MacDaddy" a lowdown pimp.

So here's this Calvin Woodward person who writes this piece about Sarah Palin's book. How crooked and totally liberal this puke of a writer is. He attacks Palin because she is a woman of courage and a conservative, trying to demean her work and her statements made in her book. Woodward is splitting hairs and he would do well to go cover Obama and his bowing to the Emperor of Japan, to dragging his feet when it comes to making a decision in Afghanistan, dragging his feet when it comes to calling Major Hasan who he is - a common, jihadist, Muslim terrorist who killed his fellow soldiers all in the name of "Allahu Akhbar" whatever that means. Woodward would do well to go cover Pelosi and Reid because he would certainly know these two corrupt politicians very well.

Lay off Sarah Palin Calvin. What you have to say is meaningless. Just childish jabbing in the playground of ideas. Get a life.

Obama's Follies

Like a spoiled rich kid who has never known real hunger and who has never had to fight for his own survival, Barack Hussein Obama freely tries to experiment with anything and everything up to and including the trial of these Gitmo terrorists. I am totally perplexed why Obama would want to create a sensational show of these terrorists' trials holding them in Federal court on the mainland and in New York at that. Clearly, I believe Obama and his thugs are wanting to create a distraction so that they can insert more nefarious and egregious amendments to the 2000 page healthcare bill.

This thug from Chicago is up to something bringing these Guantanamo Bay terrorists to be tried here in New York by his incompetent Attorney General Holder. Many citizens are concerned for their own safety and welfare. I wouldn't put it past Osama Bin Laden to spring his terrorists loose with some kind of a surprise attack on New York. I wouldn't put it past the liberal lawyers to find a way to exonerate and free these terrorists based on some technicality - all they would need would be a cooperating Federal Judge who is just as liberal as they are. Obama is up to something; I don't trust this man.

Where is Obama? Off lallygagging and making speeches in Japan and visiting China. Why? Well because he wants to prove to the world that he is the king of the world - the anointed one. I became very sick listening to his self-promotion and self-praise on Japanese television. I puked my guts out. I can't stand this grandstanding. The gall of this man, the audacity of this community organizer is beyond belief.

We made a mistake electing this ignoramus to the office of president. I didn't vote for him - I voted for the other guy. Same mistake because the other guy is gutless.

Now it is the college crowd that is putting pressure on Congress to pass this 2,000 page healthcare bill. These young people are the same ones who voted this Chicago thug into office. They are banging on doors, intruding into dorm rooms in their quest to get out the vote. For Obama it is campaigning as usual. These young college students are too dumb to realize what they are doing.

Members of Obama's rah rah squad, these robots who are in their youth and who lack experience, just gloss over life's realities. Do you think they care if their parents and grandparents will no longer have Medicare because it is being gutted by Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Obama and the Democrat majority? Fat chance.

Obama tells lies as a matter of practice. He reads his teleprompter and spews out whatever from both sides of his mouth. His words are empty and lack substance. Yet he persists. Aided and abetted by an adoring media (and as some put it "A Slobbering Media") Obama can do no wrong. How odious the times, how damning this whole scene of apathy from an asleep public. Obama should be impeached not allowed to jet around, eat $100 a pound Kobe beef and make speeches.

It is just plain sickening to see what he is doing to our great nation. Members of Congress and the Senate are all inept politicians, morally bankrupt, and doomed. Little do they know that Obama has got plans to render them useless. That Obama is readying his shadow government to take over. Look at who we have... McCain, Graham, Specter, Snowe, and a slew of RINOS. Obama knows that he can use these people like toilet tissue and they wouldn't even know it.

How did the gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey look to somebody like me who lives in Florida? Well, let me begin by saying, that both elections won by Republicans is a referendum on the Marxist policies of Barack Hussein Obama, his Cap and Trade bill, his wild Stimulus spending, his nonsensical 2,000 paged Obamacare bill that he is trying to ram down our throats with the aid of his lackeys Pelosi and Reid.

It is a loud statement by the citizens of Virginia and New Jersey that they are fed up with Obamanomics, Obama teleprompter readings, Obama photo ops at Delaware Air Force Base, Obama's jaunts all over the place using Air Force One, Obama's open and flagrant prevarications, Obama's perpetual campaigning, Obama's lack of executive experience, Obama's radical friends, CZARs, and ACORN affiliations, Obama's bait and switch tactics, Obama's narcissicism, Obama's ignorance and ineptitude, Obama's chosen path of socialism for the country and his constant apologizing for America.

Pundits cite polls showing a 50% approval for Obama. What they are not mentioning is the 60% that thinks he is destroying the country with his Marxist policies. Lap dog people like Robert Gibbs, Axelrod, Emmanuel and Jarrett are careful to state that Obama is the greatest thing happening to America since sliced bread. That goes the same for MSNBC, ABC, CBS and CNN - media that is in bed with Obama. They can't stop singing their praises to the Holy and Triumphant One - never mind that he is just a thug from Chicago and a charlatan at best.

2010 Elections are coming and they will be here even before we can toast to the New Year. I wouldn't want to be a Democrat going into the 2010 elections. I see a bloodbath happening - something paralleling the story of the more than 600 priests of Baal in the service of Jezebel being slaughtered, eviscerated and slain by the prophet Elijah at the wadi. Of course for those who are not familiar with the story, Jezebel represents Pelosi, King Ahab represents Obama with the priests of Baal represent members of Congress. Suffice it to say it shall be done.

It will be a gruesome event. The demise of the Pharisaical Democrats is at hand.

On Florida Politics

After Governor Charlie Crist embraced, hugged, and cleaved to Barack Hussein Obama, - not just figuratively but quite literally - the Democrat radical community organizer who now has taken residence in the Oval Office, I threw both my arms up in the air and in exasperation declared, "Governor Crist is nothing but a Republican In Name Only (RINO)!"

My conclusion that Governor Crist is nothing more than a RINO was further strengthened when I heard Governor Crist back the senseless and idiotic piece of legislation known as Cap and Trade - which is actually Crap and Tax devised by the Democrats to make life miserable and unaffordable for all of us citizens of this great country.

Now Governor Crist wants to take the place of the retired Senator Mel Martinez - another RINO who was for amnesty for illegal aliens and who voted Sotomayor to a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. He is campaigning to be the Republican nominee. To which I have been thinking and reflecting. Should I support Governor Crist in his bid for the senate? Why should I support a RINO? Governor Crist comes from the same cloth as Senator Lindsay Graham and Senator John McCain come from. In my humble opinion, the Republican Party can ill afford to have too many RINOs running in the herd of elephants. It is bad for the party.

Since I am a registered Republican I will not support Governor Crist at the primaries. I will support the conservative Rubio. It is high time for all of us to rid the government of these RINO softies and elect true conservatives. It is high time to remove Obama's cronies and huggers. It is high time for all citizens to clean up the mess that Obama and his thugs have created of our government.

Ever Notice...

Lately, every time I turn on my car radio and the hourly news report comes on, I have noticed that the reporter or newscaster always plays in their reporting every little bitty thing attributable to Obama. Like a soundbyte. It matters not if it's just a grunt, or a prolonged aahhh... or some unintelligible statement. It almost seems as if the media is bent on broadcasting every little word uttered by the Messiah for the public's blessing. The idea of course is so that the listening unwashed masses might be given, for free, the graces and plenary indulgences from the nuggets and gems of wisdom that have issued forth from the very lips of their Golden Calf anointed one.

Which is a bunch of hogwash! I am so sick and tired of hearing the sound of Obama's voice I feel like puking each time I hear a word uttered by him. His voice is increasingly annoying. On television, his arrogant countenance, his hood shuck and jive stance, his girly lisping voice are all ingredients of a wretched fare the media serves us viewers day in, day out. His televised image showing him strutting on the green lawn, arms almost scraping the ground, going in and out of airplanes, helicopters, and other vehicles prompts me to ask, "What's the big deal? Is this supposed to endear me to our Dear Marxist Leader?"

I tell you Obama is overexposed. Seeing him on television, hearing his voice on radio, watching him read his teleprompter again and again gives me a feeling like I want to retch, like I have just drank a gallon of olive oil. I say enough Obama expository worship already! Put the cameras and the microphones away. Toss out all his previous CD recordings and such. Erase this man's presence from the broadcast stage and return sanity to the airwaves. This is America, not Zimbabwe.

I remember when George W. Bush was in office the liberals, lefties, commies, Democrats, all the fringe left gnomes and mental midgets demonized him, berated him, ridiculed him, hated him, debased him, spat at him, caricatured him and did all sorts of untoward things - the worst of them calling him Hitler.

Even Senator Durbin stooped down so low in calling our military troops Nazi storm troopers. The Clintons expressed dismay at an imagined right wing conspiracy. Bill Clinton still today claims it as real.

So while the Democrats and the Lefty liberals were stirring up all this smoke of obfuscation, all this emotions of discontent, they managed to eke themselves a small victory in the '06 and '08 elections - which of course they are turning into electoral mandates. They believe this so much so that now they even brag about controlling the news. They unabashedly admitted that the White House controls the news. Obama dictates the news.

Who is acting like Hitler now? Ask yourselves - if Obama now controls the news, the banks, Wall street, the auto industry, and soon the medical/healthcare business if you let him pass his Obamacare - what and who is next? Oh yes - the Catholic Church is next. Mark my words, you heard it here too if not first - the Catholic Church is next thanks to the likes of Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, John Kerry - all staunch Catholics!!!

If the typical Republican is like Lindsay Graham

I can only speak from what I see, from what I hear in the newscasts, from what I read in the periodicals and magazines. From all angles Lindsay Graham might as well be a Democrat. He is almost like Arlen Specter in that he reaches across the aisle one too many times. And for what?

Lindsay Graham is John McCain's amigo. They stood side by side on the campaign trail when Senator McCain ran for the office of the presidency. They stood side by side to oppose their own party's president, George W. Bush because they wanted to distinguish themselves as renegade independents and mavericks.

Like Senator McCain who collaborated with the late Senator Kennedy on amnesty for illegal aliens, Lindsay Graham now collaborates with John Kerry to uphold this idea of writing legislation based on the global warming hoax. I wonder what's in it for Senator Graham to collaborate with Senator Kerry, the failed Democratic presidential candidate?

Republicans never seem to learn. They try to make nice with the Democrats but when they get too close the Democrats poke them right in the eye with a live stogy or cigarette butt. They recoil backwards, reeling at the unexpected poke in the eye. Still they go back to and assume the same posture - making nice to the Democrats. They get a dose of the same kind of treatment. But like dumb gerbils they keep going back for more.

No wonder Republicans are Democrat Lite. Instead of differentiating themselves from their political adversaries, they try to do better than them engaging in and using the same failed tactics. Republicans should be insisting that they be heard because they have something substantial to say - not just a rehash of the old Democrat line that has never worked.

If Republicans are typified by the likes of Senator Lindsay Graham, Senator John McCain, and Senator Olympia Snowe - no wonder the American people have turned their backs on the Republicans. No wonder they are not only the minority, they are the invisible party - the party of mediocre ideas and inarticulate buffoons.

A Sad Day in America

It is a sad day in America when a black flim flam preacher like Al Sharpton, by vociferously spewing lies and fabrications could literally weaken the resolve of a group of wealthy white Americans wanting to purchase a professional football team and in the process drop Rush Limbaugh as a partner because blacks find him offensive and divisive.

Wow! I never thought I would see the day when things are this bad in America! Common sense, critical thinking, freedom and liberty are all notions and concepts of the past. Thuggery, boorishness, ethics of the hood are the rules of the day. The white man has become the new castrati and the black man the new master of the house.

What has Rush Limbaugh done to offend the blacks to the point that he cannot purchase an interest in a professional football team? Expressing his opinion about Donovan McNabb? Is that all his fault? Or has the world turned upside down in that lies and fabrications are now considered facts and irrevocable truths? Perhaps I should use Obama's election into the Oval Office as the harbinger of things to come. How doomed we are!

I flatly refuse to believe that Jim Irsay of the Indianapolis Colts could say that he would block Rush Limbaugh from buying a piece of the action. But I suppose he did. How selfish and how patronizing to the black players that play for his team. I really thought Jim Irsay was different from his late father who moved the Colts from the city of Baltimore under cover of darkness. How wrong I was... The apple does not fall too far away from the tree.

The Race Card and the NFL

Rush Limbaugh is a white man. He is also a talk show host. His Rush Limbaugh show on the EIB network is heard by millions of enthusiastic listeners - fans and non-fans alike. Why is Rush so successful? Because he deftly combines truth and honesty in his commentary - his own personal take on it - and entertainment. On radio or on some other broadcast medium you don't last this long - as long as Rush has lasted - if you don't have something to sell to the public that they the public are willing to buy.

When Rush sat in the booth at ESPN and made those comments on Donovan McNabb - he made those comments from a personal point of view. The ESPN management, in an effort to remain politically correct and to kowtow to the Black Lobby and/or Caucus (whatever they are called these days) quickly dispatched Rush out of there. ESPN did not allow the market to dictate Rush's future in that broadcast venue. If Rush was not going to be successful as an ESPN sports commentator because people who would normally listen to ESPN are turned off by his commentary - then have the decency to allow the market to oust him instead of bowing down at the altar of the race card players and black victimhood marketers - the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Now we have some news that Rush Limbaugh might be interested in buying some part of the St Louis Rams football team franchise. I think this is a great idea. We want those football players to have employment - to be able to play. I like to watch football games on television.

But now the Black Players association are making statements they would not play for Rush's team no matter the salary offering. What? Then what are these black football players going to do? Sit out the season and/or look to play for other teams? For what? I question their race-card based reasoning and sentiments. This is being small-minded and childish. If this is the mental caliber of some black football players then no wonder they are still stuck in the same social place - in the victim's seat!

The Nobel Peace Prize

For taking over GM, Chrysler, and the Banks
For indoctrinating young kids to praise and idolize him in song
For wanting to rule the world
For kissing the butt of every rogue nation leader - Chavez, Castro, Zelaya, Achmadinajad, Kim Jong Il
For trying to appease those who would want to annihilate us
For being able to eloquently read the teleprompter
For having his books ghost-written and claiming he wrote them himself
For keeping his personal records sealed from public view
For employing radical people as his CZARs
For flying Air Force One over Manhattan for a photo op

He who hesitates is lost

My father said to me one day, "He who hesitates is lost," as I vacillated whether to jump across an irrigation ditch to join him on the other side, or walk the half kilometer distance to circumvent the ditch. At my father's prompting and encouraging words I jumped across the ditch and joined him on our walk home from the fields.

This brief episode between me and my father taught me to grow in my self-confidence. At the time of my jump I was too young to grasp the meaning of the whole enchilada and I grumbled complainingly underneath my breath. I entertained thoughts like, "How could this man, who is my father, be so heartless - expecting me to jump across that chasm of rushing water? I am but a little boy, a weakling; I need to be carried and ferried across - can't he see that?"

But I am glad my father allowed me the leeway and opportunity to do the jumping myself instead of helping me get across that irrigation ditch. Over the years I would come across such incidents wherein I would recall that very initial reaction to a challenge. Ultimately, after reflecting over the issue and/or after going through thoughtful analysis of the situation at hand I would always hear my father's voice saying, "He who hesitates is lost." And I would take action.

I look at the current situation in Afghanistan. Our soldiers are being exposed to dangers and harm that are way beyond the perils of war. Where is the Commander in Chief? General MacChrystal, the NATO commander asked for more troops to be sent to supplement the contingent that's already there. Where is the Commander in Chief? Is he sequestered in some quiet room in Camp David agonizing, praying, and reflecting on what is good for the country, asking for guidance and deliverance from God Almighty?

NO. Not even close.

He flew to Denmark with his wife in tow together with the television billionaire Oprah Winfrey, to make a splash pitch to the IOC to promote Chicago as the 2016 Olympic Games venue. There in front of the IOC Sanhedrin he articulated his case, eloquently read from his teleprompter, enunciated every syllable of his message that to deny Chicago the 2016 Olympic Games would be to go against Divine Providence as only he, the Anointed One, the Messiah could ever broker.

But wait. What about our troops in Afghanistan? What has the Commander in Chief decided to do? No decision yet. Afghanistan is not important enough to address with a sense of urgency. Got to pass Obamacare - by hook or by crook. Got to get those white lab coats, distribute them to the assembly of actors acting like doctors in favor of Obamacare for a photo op at the White House lawn. Got to celebrate an anniversary with Michelle Obama. To heck with Afghanistan... it can wait. Besides, it is Bush's fault that we are there at all.

I thought about this inaction (hesitation) by the president in the face of the war on terror. He is lost. This oval office occupier is not a man; he is but a child. Inexperienced in the ways of the world. He never had a father who taught him how to be a man and how to deal with problems like a man. He relied on his sheer ability to convince others to follow his community organizing techniques as a disciple of Saul Alinsky. This man-child is no leader. He cowers at the thought of somebody like Hugo Chavez, or Achmadinajad, or Kim Jung Il, or even a toothless old dog like Castro. He would just as soon apologize for being an American rather than stand up for what is right for the country.

The Olympics Entourage

Watching some movie classics I have seen movies like "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Ben Hur" that show Bedouin tents as part of the story. I loved the opulence displayed underneath those huge tents... with the Sheik or Pasha sitting on a stack of silk covered cushions, a bevy of belly dancers shaking their ankle amulets, thrusting their hips in mesmerizing pelvic circular motions, wine stewards filling goblets with red wine and the food handlers working on a sumptuous spread... while their docile guards stand stoically outside the tent flaps watching over the camels.

Then there is always a part in the movie where some Caliph of a conquered province sends gifts to the Sheik. Casks of gold, emeralds, gems, fur, leather, swords, silver chalices, pearl necklaces and other pottery works made out of ivory and of course a gaggle of young virginal maidens ready for service in the Sheik's harem. With flare and high choreography the bearers would open their casks, pour out the valuable contents in front of the Sheik for all to see and to marvel at. Sighs of awe and sighs of envy issue forth from the other Bedouins in the tent.

Barack Hussein Obama flew his big bird Obama Airways 747 to Copenhagen, Denmark to grovel in front of the mighty IOC assembled in their opulent Bedouin tents. With him he brought his wife Michelle and their friend - the queen of television, Oprah Winfrey. Did Obama expect the IOC to accept these "gifts" that he bore to grease the skids and to sweeten the deal? Not a chance. He couldn't even move the IOC Sheiks with his teleprompter reading eloquence. Of course the IOC Sheiks have also witnessed the murders committed in the windy city courtesy of YouTube. Barack Hussein Obama.... mmm.....mmm.....mmm.... in all his glory and with all his smarts - he couldn't move those IOC Bedouin Sheiks.

What a sorry excuse for a president. What kind of priority tree does Obama follow? I see - the country comes last when it comes to Obama. He has to feed his ego first. He has to pimp himself up in front of the universal mirror and prove that the whole world adores him still. Never mind that his field general MacChrystal came to plead his case for more men. No - that can wait - those are only soldiers dying and getting shot at. No big deal! Obama has to escort his wife Michelle and her friend Oprah to Denmark to "save" the Olympics for his native homeland Chicago first before he can think of the economy and to act as the Commander in Chief!

Obama exits the IOC Bedouin tent like a flea-bitten dog - whipped and peed upon by a bunch of IOC Sheiks - his tail in between his legs. What a picture!!!

Too Much Talk

Diarrhea is a horrible malady. It wreaks havoc within. But if it is diarrhea of the mouth, it is just as horrible because it wreaks havoc without. Listeners soon tire of the incessant mouthing off, the nuanced prevarications, the feigned outrage, and the contrived oratory. All that spewing off grows old and stale rather quickly, all you want to do is to turn off that television set, or change the channel, or even pull the plug from the wall socket.

Take the case of this president who can't understand or refuses to understand that he is trying to sell a bad bill of goods with this healthcare program he is pushing. There is no way that he can expect to make this Obamacare program more palatable by speaking out - yet he does not have the common sense to accept that people are no longer buying his lies.

Changing the label from public option to co-opted programs, changing the name from government single payer to competitive approach, injecting buzz words such as investment, hope and change we can believe in, continuously bombarding the airwaves by going to the Sunday talk shows and demanding prime time press conference coverage from the state-run media - these do not help one single iota promote his socialist program.

People have spoken in the townhall meetings. The people have marched on Washington. People continue to speak out. Yet this president acts as if he cannot hear. The farmers in California have been imploring the government to open up the waterways to their fields so they can plant and grow produce. The Obama administration refuses to relent. Instead of helping the poor farmer his Environmental Czar is getting ready to enact animal rights to legal representation.

Clearly diarrhea of the mouth is not our only problem. We also have the cancer of Obama's radical Czars.

A Corrupt Congress

Why do I think our Congress is corrupt, or run by corrupt politicians? The answer is simple. All around them the ACORN tapes, captured by two, young aspiring journalists, are being broadcast by FOX News almost 24/7. The Senate has now even voted to cut off all government funding for that bad ACORN outfit - yet, Ms. Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, says she doesn't know anything about it.

Congressman Rangel is embroiled in hiding millions from the IRS and yet he remains untouched and still the head of the powerful Ways and Means Committee that drafts tax laws for the land. What?

But wait... Representative Joe Wilson, who exclaimed the naked truth but unfortunately in the wrong place and in the wrong situation, has apologized to the president, with the president accepting his apology - yet Congress, or the Democratic majority publicly slapped his wrist once more with their censure! It is clear that the Democrats will go after Joe Wilson - and they are not done yet - but will leave Rangel alone even though he is immersed in nothing but sewer and feces, reeks with the odious odor of corruption, and is an embarrassment to himself and the office of Congressman.

How much more corrupt can you get?

If I Were a Parent of a Student Today

Thank God I don't have any young children going to school today. If I did I would probably have to take offense at Obama's gall to give my kid a speech about responsibility or about anything resembling an inspirational talk. Heck he can't even inspire the country into getting out of a recession. He can't even inspire the Iranians to abandon their nuclear ambitions. He can't even inspire Kim Jung IL into not firing those missiles recklessly. In my humble opinion the man is an idiot. He has no business being in that Oval Office. How can an idiot inspire my child?

What is wrong with this picture? Is the extent of his ability to be president limited to his being able to read a teleprompter? Does he only know one thing and that is to give speeches?

Clearly this man does not have the acumen to run the country. He has relegated that responsibility to his CZARS, he has given Pelosi and Reid carte blanche to write whatever legislation they think is important. Obama is such a despicable occupant of the Oval Office I am totally embarrassed to have him claiming he is the president of the United States.

I watched the townhall meeting facilitated by Senator Specter. I watched the townhall meeting facilitated by Senator McCaskill. I also partly watched the president in New Hampshire.

What was the common theme of these three townhall meetings?

1. They were all staged.

2. They were all phony assurances made by politicians with no credibility.

3. They all used the same techniques of not allowing dissent to be voiced.

What are my personal conclusions?

1. That Senator Specter cannot be trusted to tell the truth.

2. That Senator McCaskill can chide the crowd as if she was a mother talking to her children all she wants but her message is lost in the rhetoric, talking points and lies that Obama wants her to communicate.

3. That most of all, President Obama is not telling the truth no matter how he spins anything and everything. How can this person have any believability? He has spent all the goodwill and benefit of the doubt that the American people have given him ever since he began to campaign and to run for office. He still thinks he's got the people bamboozled. He still believes that a little bit of razz ma tazz here and a slide there can get him through.

No longer, I am afraid. People have awakened to his lies and constant changing of his story, his statements and his positions. This man is Houdini himself. Slippery as an eel. The worst thing that he does is to act and speak like a child in the playground while he is pointing fingers to those whom he considers to be bullies when in fact he is the biggest bully of all.

How can those people whom he and his staff have handpicked and selected, sit there and act like sheep while his voice drones on and on about "I don't want to hear from those who have created the mess in the first place! I just want them to stay out of the way so I can clean up this mess!" The drugged up crowd exclaims, "Right on! Right on! Amen to that Bro! Blessed be his name!" Is this some kind of a stick ball game in the backyard wherein you make your rules as you go along? Whatever happened to a healthy exchange of ideas? Of debate?

Here is the president prancing about, shucking, jiving, shouting and intoning in his best imitation of a black voice that a healthy debate is what is necessary and needed? But where are those who would represent and champion the other point of view - the voices of dissent? Were these folks allowed to come in and be present during his "highly choreographed and controlled" press conferences and townhall meetings? Or were they banned and tossed out to stand by along the sidewalks carrying their signs while inside his opulent speaking chamber sits a flock of sheep and angora goats?

Smoke and mirrors. What a load of crap. For once, president Obama ought to be honest with the American people and announce that he is having one of his infomercials instead of trying to pass the event off as a legitimate townhall meeting. That way we - the thinking public - would know whether to watch or not, up front.

I scream with exasperation, "Wake up America! The tide is going out. Aweigh all boats. You don't want to get stuck in the muck." But the inebriated, drugged up, intoxicated, obese and apathetic people slump back into one neat, turban shaped coil and into deeper slumber - just like the anaconda that has swallowed a whole pig.

Maybe we should close down all the food processing factories and return to the old, proven to be healthy way of preparing foods. Remember how it used to be? In some dirty, country kitchen where lard and pork fat sizzle to prepare beef liver, bacon strips and onions. And nearby in a neat pile we have fried green tomatoes adjacent to the steaming pan of cornbread? And all these foods would have been prepared using no chemicals and/or presevatives, msg, sodium and other taste enhancers? We would all be more healthy and alert.

We would awaken from this stupor brought about by our surging blood sugar readings, our high cholesterol, our arthritis pain and hyper-thyroid problems. We would arise resurrected by the first rays of the morning sun ready to go about our work and business. Our ears would be open, our eyes wide and not shut - to hear and see every little contrived lie that this administration is trying to ram down our throats.

I pray the American people wake up soon before it is way too late. The buzzards from Chicago are feasting on what they believe is careon and the decomposing body of the American politic. I believe they are much mistaken. The American people are far from dead.

Do you believe in O Bum Ah? Then you are a dead person. I personally do not believe in any person who speaks using both sides of his or her mouth. Can you imagine this person thinking that no one is listening to what he says - er... what he reads off of his teleprompter?

For example, "There are those who have an illegitimate concern that the single payer system is a Trojan horse. . ." Well, isn't that what it is? From today's rhetoric and speeches, the government single payer system is being rolled into the town square as the most desirable program for the people? Bunk! What a load of crap!

It is but fitting that Specter was booed and Sebelius was booed out of the auditorium when they began to tell their lies in a townhall meeting they tried to hold. It is obvious that the people are sick and tired of being lied to - yet - the O Bum Ah believes that he can ride his cultlike followership into the bitter end of destroying the country.

And listen to the Geithners's latest BS. "We may have to raise taxes on the middle class. . ." What? But the Lord O Bum Ah spoke through his double sided mouth that there will be tax cuts for 95% of Americans!

Who do we believe now? There is not one voice telling the truth! O Bum Ah is saying something different from Joe "must spend to avoid bankruptcy" Biden, and different from Princess Nancy "they are all terrorists" Pelosi, not to mention the Rahmmer himself.

Lord, please take care of our country and deliver us from the hands of the biggest liar in history - O BUM AH.

Like that woman from Iowa I am sick of Obama

In today's news is this 70 year old lady from Iowa who is selling her two television sets because she is sick and tired of seeing Obama's face in all the channels. Somehow that tired feeling resonates with me. I have also developed a new technique. Each time I hear that stupid radio commercial about volunteerism that starts out with, "Hi. I am president Barack Obama. . ." I turn the knob to another radio station or turn the radio off completely. Then I run to the bathroom to puke. I can't stand this man's face plastered all over the television channels all the time even when he has nothing of substance to say.

There is something in Obama's voice that makes me sick. The sight of his face or the sound of his feigned commanding voice, "I want it done NOW!" as if he is some kind of emperor talking to kindergarteners, is enough to give me fits. It is then that I realize this man who occupies the White House is one of the greatest impostors of our time.

He freely calls himself "president" yet refuses to prove his legitimacy with his long form birth certificate. You can ask the White House Secretary and he will ridicule you as his way of not answering the question. Is this being open and transparent or is Obama hiding something from the American people? He claims to be educated, yet he fails to produce even his kindergarten school records, his Occidental college records, his works at Columbia, his works at Harvard. But he sure can party on $100 a pound Kobe beef imported from Japan. He sure can fly all over the world with Air Force One on a whim or to go watch a show on Broadway with his wife Michelle Obama. Never mind that the people are starving to death and are out of jobs. The little emperor has to have his way.

Like this healthcare bill or Obamacare, for instance. What can be so critically important that we have to rush this bill through without so much as a debate let alone time to read the 1,017-paged bill? Why is Rahm Emmanuel using strong arm techniques and the Chicago way to get this bill passed? Why is Nancy Pelosi sitting on these Blue Dog Democrats until they are close to asphyxiating so that they wind up relenting and voting for this nefarious bill?

I am so sick and tired of this thug. God help America.

What I Find Most Troubling

From my limited point of view and most uneducated opinion, I have been trying to do the math on president Obama's healthcare plan and it just doesn't add up. If on one hand it is true that there are 47M people who are currently uninsured but 85 percent of the people (255M) are quite happy and satisfied with their healthcare insurance program coverage, why should it be necessary to overhaul the entire system that is working in order to insure the 47M? It doesn't make sense.

The president is not willing to look at tort reform in order to put a cap on frivolous malpractice lawsuits and those runaway penalties that render even the most successful doctors to rethink their profession.

This 1,017-page bill hasn't even been read by the president least of all the people who are expected to vote on it.

What is clear to me is that president Obama wants to grab more power. The more power the government can exercise over the people, the more dependent on government the people can become.

President Obama keeps on telling lies about how people who are currently insured may keep their insurance, select their own doctors, and opt for the care that is best for them. This is such a flagrant lie he should have the decency to blush even while reading his teleprompter. He knows he is lying but it doesn't matter as long as he achieves his planned ends.

The sad part about this whole game of charades is that there is nobody representing the people's interests. The Democrats have the majority everywhere. They are unopposed. They are ramming down our throats this most insidious healthcare bill much like they railroaded the stimulus and the cap and trade bills.

The situation is becoming more and more hopeless. What are we citizens to do? Our own representatives and Senators are on the payroll of the president. The media is state run and also on the same payroll.

I am asphyxiating in my own little world. The government of president Obama has taken all the oxygen from the water. Somebody help.

Since when did the President of the United States of America have the time to deal with local issues such as this event involving Professor Gates and the Cambridge Police? Is the president's office so all encompassing in its power and control over the whole country that he has to comment on such local incidents in order to help solve and rectify the situation?

Another way to look at it is, is the president's office so devoid of more critical matters to attend to, matters such as, healthcare, the cap and trade bill, the stimulus package, the war in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq, the nuclear ambitions of Iran, the missile launches of North Korea, the myriad Czars being appointed left and right, and the deficit spending? Is the president trying to prove that truly he is the Messiah, the anointed one who is indeed omniscient and all knowing?

By commenting thus, President Barack Hussein Obama has taken the office of the presidency a full notch down the measuring stick. Or is this kind of knee jerk behavior purely a black, cultural act to get right in there and be part of the "hood" - in acting in your face? I have seen this kind of activity in the black community. All it takes are two black people discussing something and you would think they were at war with each other or that they were totally agitated. Could it be that he is just showing his ACORN-learned techniques of community organizing? Could it be that he is not too far removed from the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson after all?

How can the Cambridge Police be accused of acting stupidly by doing their job to the best of their ability? Is it because they arrested one of Obama's friends? Or is it because Obama learned his brand of prejudice from sitting in the pews of Rev. Wright's church? Or is it because the mask of amiability, coolness, and being educated is finally unravelling and the real Obama is emerging into view?

I am very offended personally by President Obama's lack of statesmanship and piddly antics all in the name of being articulate and educated. I don't believe George Washington Carver would have acted this way. I don't think Louis Armstrong would have acted this way. Of course these two great black men were from a different age and era. Obama could learn a thing or two from these great black men.

When I Was a Kid

Crawling on the floor I really wanted tp put my hands on that object that sat atop my mother's coffee table. It was made of glass and it had pretty flowers in it. I have never seen anything that looked so beautiful. I was too short and small to grab it with my hands outright; I needed a plan.

Lifting myself up by my tiny hands solidly planted on the edge of the coffee table, I lifted my body up to the level of the coffee table. The object was so close I could almost just reach for it. It was then that my grandmother saw what I was trying to do and she immediately came to rescue the object from my wrecking ball hands. I protested vehemently. Crying and screaming I really wanted that beautiful flower vase.

My grandmother was a master at devising distraction. With her free hand she started shaking her key ring. I still had my eyes fixed on the flower vase that she securely held in her other hand. She made so much noise with her key ring that the sounds and the dangling objects finally pried my attention away from the flower vase. My attention now redirected, I ceased my crying and began to reach out for the key ring.

Obama, his cabinet, including all his czars and Congress are experts at the art of distraction. Imagine them using the death of Michael Jackson to pry our focus and attention away from the Cap and Trade legislation long enough for them to craft the bill and ram it down our throats. They are doing the same thing with their healthcare bill. They are using the Sonia Sotomayor confirmation hearings as a distraction. In the dark of night and in the secrecy of their smoke-filled backrooms they are feverishly crafting yet another expensive killer bill to push through their socialized medicine, single payer system of government run health insurance. Who is minding the store?

A few Republicans are trying to have their voices heard but the din and cacophony created by Nancy Pelosi's gong wielding dogs is just too much for the soft-spoken, polite, inept if not docile Republicans. It is obvious to the most casual observer that this one party rule is not doing the country's economy any good. It is not doing small business any good when the president himself, instead of lowering taxes, is raising taxes. It is clear that people who hate America have taken over the reins of government and are overreaching.

Will the people wake up in time to make the 2010 elections count and make a difference? We shall see.

Government Healthcare

From where I stand this much I understand: that we need to examine the healthcare system that we currently have today and ask how we can improve on it to include those who are too poor to afford health insurance.

Rushing through a piece of healthcare legislation that nobody has had time to read and analyze is not a solution to the stated problem. This is what the Democrats are trying to do. Rush this legislation just as they did with the Stimulus package. Their claim is that if they don't get this legislation through by a certain date, it would mean that all of America will go through a catastrophic and debilitating event. And we can't have that.

It is a game that these people in Congress are playing and it is the health and welfare of the American people they are playing with. The Democratic majority's agenda is aided by the incessant harping by Barack Hussein Obama. He injected healthcare in his July 4th speech. He injected healthcare in his Michigan speech. I could be a smart mouth here and claim that the reason why his teleprompter crashed to pieces was that it could no longer withstand the lies Obama's telling.

What makes Congress think that the government can do a better job at administering healthcare rather than the private sector when the evidence of their ineptitude and mismanagement is shown all over the Medicare - Medicaid programs not to mention Social Security that is nearly broke?

What makes people who believe in government think that their government can do a better job at administering healthcare rather than private industry when all they have to do is to look at how the United States Post Office has gone broke, the DMV is totally inefficient, and the state of California is bankrupt - all totally run by the government?

Are people so ignorant and uninformed so as to give the government such powers to exercise over them? Are people not aware of the healthcare situation in Canada? In the UK? In Europe? Are people not aware of how inefficient socialized medicine can get when there is no more money to spend? Are people ready to pay more and more taxes to prop up the government and its programs?

What is wrong with people's thinking? Have Americans stopped thinking critically? Rationally? Objectively?

...America is good, that is what makes America great. If the day ever comes when America is no longer good then America will no longer be great. I paraphrase the words of French historian De Tocqueville that he spoke about America upon visiting it in the 1800's.

Is this statement still good in today's America? Well, from where I stand, I know that there are pockets and communities of good, God fearing Americans still living in America today. They are quickly dwindling down to only a few though. What has happened to America is not unusual. People have lost their spiritual bearings, their wonder and awe of the supernatural, embracing their own human genius as the main reason for their success. Americans have changed their allegiance, from God to the almighty dollar. They have decided to serve Mamon.

Some preacher declared that the most dangerous place in America today is in the expectant mother's womb. The helpless, innocent child is left to fend for itself in the face of the abortionist's unceasing onslaught. If America's mothers do not value the lives of their unborn children, how can America be good? If husbands and fathers do not honor their responsibility to their wives and children, leaving them to fend for themselves, how can America be a good country? If families are broken and the basic unit of society lies in shambles, how can America still be a good country?

This coming fourth of July I want to celebrate De Tocqueville's America - an America that is good and great. I want to praise and thank God for all the gifts He has compassionately poured upon this nation. I want to thank and praise God for taking care of our soldiers and military in uniform who keep watch and who guarantee our freedoms. July fourth should bring us to the realization that we as a people have strayed from the paths of righteousness and that we ought to come back to our original bearings as a God fearing people.

Let us therefore come together and celebrate our good way of life this coming Independence Day. Let us prayerfully ask God to deliver us from all evil, deliver us from harm, and keep us safe and forgiving of the trespasses of others. We are a free people. Where is the Birth Certificate?

I would like to respectfully submit the following questions for you to answer.

According to the Constitution, a president must be a "natural born" citizen of America. Why is it so hard for you to provide a copy of your long form birth certificate to answer this question about your eligibility to be president? This would once and for all answer all lingering questions about your legitimacy.
Why are you backing the reinstatement of Honduran ex-president Zelaya? Isn't Zelaya advocating extending his term in office that is contrary to the Honduran Constitution of term limits? Isn't Zelaya supported by the likes of Chavez and Castro? Your support of Zelaya seems contrary to America's best interest as the beacon of freedom for the world.
Why have you quadrupled the deficit? If it is true that you have inherited a deficit from the other administration, why have you endeavored to increase the deficit instead of trying to reduce it? Why are you spending money that is not there?
What are you doing about North Korea's rampant and flagrant missile testing?
Why are you pushing the Cap and Trade Energy Tax Bill? Why are you so intent in raising our taxes instead of insisting that government operates within its reasonable budget and to stop wastefulness?
Why are you trying to socialize healthcare by insisting that the government can do a good job at managing healthcare when in fact the government can't even effectively manage the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)?
Why does the Executive Branch of government want to take over the census? Is it perhaps so that you can use ACORN to rig the lists of eligible voters?
Why can you not take questions from random press members during your press conferences and answer them accordingly? Why do you always have to pre-arrange and pre-assign the questioners and their questions that they can ask? Why are you rigging the press conferences? How is this supposed to enlighten the public on what you are doing on the job and where you stand?
Why do you always have to use a teleprompter? Why can't you speak extemporaneously if you are so educated, articulate, and brilliant as the media have made you up to be?
What right did you have to fire the CEO of General Motors and to strong arm Chrysler into bankruptcy? What right did you have to promote the union members first before the bond owners in the Chrysler bankruptcy deal?
Why are you apologizing to the European Muslim world for being American? Your posturing does not reflect how I feel and clearly does not represent me as an American to the rest of the world. Why are you doing this?

Tightly Controlled Press Conferences

I am not naive to think that there is not some control exerted upon the immediate environment during Press Conferences held by the president. Of course there is control. But this Obama administration has taken control of press conferences to the highest level. It includes staged town meetings. It includes pre-selected press members that will be called upon to submit their questions to the president. The questions are pre-determined and rehearsed well before the meeting.

The person who is the mouthpiece of the White House, Mr. Gibbs, cannot answer the questions asked him by the press corps about why this press conference environment is so controlled. Why there are pre-determined questioners and pre-determined questions to be asked the president? Why is this happening when in fact the candidate Obama promised transparency and openness in all the goings on in his administration?

From this revelation I am compelled to conclude that president Obama is not really in the driver's seat. He is not acting like the president. He is acting still like a candidate who is so quick to make pronouncements and promises he intends to break. But he sure can read that teleprompter and appear to be in command. Any two bit actor could do this sort of acting though provided they have a script to read.

This tight handed control of the media concerns me because the media that are supposed to be a part of the checks and balances to the system has been compromised. This state run media is definitely in the pocket of Barack Obama and this is not a healthy way to run the government.

Why Destroy the American Economy?

I am totally perplexed at what Congress and the President are doing. I am talking about this Cap and Trade bill recently passed by Nancy Pelosi's Congress. Why would our elected politicians work to raise our electric bills, tax us for using energy and work to erase our gains in our quality of life? Why can't the Federal government operate within its budget and use the taxpayer's money wisely? Why is president Obama wanting to raise taxes in order to have money to spend on non-essential programs, such as, funding Hamas refugees so they can come and live here in the United States?

Why is the government meddling in our auto industry and our financial markets? Why has president Obama taken over General Motors, firing its CEO, pushing Chrysler to be sold to Fiat, giving preference to members of the United Auto Workers Union before the bond owners and investors when it comes to recouping their loses from Chrysler's filing for bankruptcy?

Lee Iacoca, the savior of Chrysler when it came close to the verge of dying is outraged at what the current administration is doing to our economy and way of conducting business. He is outraged at the lack of concern by the general public at what president Obama is doing to take us into socialism. Lee Iacoca is outraged that there are no leaders emerging to articulate to the people other points of view. He is outraged that a majority of Americans are sitting on their butts, seemingly satisfied at the morsels that Obama and his Democratic majority are throwing at them in the form of speeches and stimulus packages that have yet to make an impact on the economy.

Aren't you outraged yet? Are you still enamored at the prospect of this politician from Chicago who is making all the moves while America is preoccupied with the death of Michael Jackson and/or American Idol? Wake up America. Obama and his Democratic Congress majority are railroading our country into third world statehood. Obama and his politboro are operating at all hours passing bills and spending money that is not there while you are watching Oprah on television and/or playing golf.

Chicken Adobo Family Recipe

Chicken adobo is a mouth-watering dish served with hot steamed rice with a vegetable side dish. For color contrast and presentation, you may use for vegetables green beans, asparagus spears, or swiss chard sautee.

Chicken adobo may be categorized thus: (1) wet and (2) dry. Adobo can also be further categorized into a recipe using onions and a recipe that doesn't use onions. Onions do not belong to real adobo as it imparts a taste and aroma that defeats and overwhelms the garlic, the star clove, and the peppercorn aroma.

And another thing. Do not ever use chicken white meat for adobo. It dries up and becomes nonpalatable. Use only the dark meat. In fact, if you are adventurous, you may include the giblets (liver, gizzard, neck). Use only chicken thighs, drum sticks and the back ribs.

It is also best to use a wok, teflon coated or otherwise, to cook adobo because as the water is displaced and the pieces begin to be braised in its own chicken oil, you must carefully turn the pieces over until golden brown.

With that introduction, here's the Dry Chicken Adobo recipe that has been with the family for as long as I can remember.

Ingredients

Four thighs and four drumsticks with the livers, gizzards and necks
4 Star cloves (available at most Asian food stores)
1 fresh garlic bulb, crushed, peeled, and chopped
1 tsp of oregano
1 tbsp of whole peppercorns, coarsely crushed
2 bay leaves (crushed or whole)
1/3 cup of Tamari Soy Sauce
1/4 cup of 5% acidity Apple Cider vinegar
3 packets of Splenda, Equal, or Sweet and Low Sugar
Dash of red pepper (the same you use on your pizza)
Cold water to cover the chicken pieces in the wok

Procedure

Wash the pieces of chicken, place in colander and allow the pieces to drip excess water.
In the wok, pour the soy sauce, vinegar, and the sugar. Using a whisk or a ladle, mix the sauce. Dip your finger; taste the sauce. Adjust the tartness, sweetness, saltiness to your taste. Be careful not to overdo this because you can come up with too much soy sauce, and/or too much vinegar, or too much sugar.
Add the garlic, oregano, bay leaves, red pepper. Mix thoroughly.
Lay the chicken pieces in the wok, lining the wok bottom with the thighs and the drumsticks next and finally the giblets on the topmost layer.
Scatter the crushed black peppercorns over the chicken pieces.
Pour the cold water over the chicken pieces until the pieces are covered. Place the wok lid to seal the wok.
Turn on the heat to high. If using an electric wok, turn the heat to high. The wok will begin to boil. Let it boil for about 15 minutes. Turn the heat to medium. The wok will go into simmer while continuing to cook and to get rid of the water turned to steam.
Stay with the dish so that you will be there on hand as soon as all the water evaporates and the chicken pieces begin to drip their own oil. If for some reason you have to leave the wok at this point, you can listen for the sizzling sound of fat dripping - as this will let you know that the dish critical time has arrived. You must turn the heat to low at this time to prevent burning the pieces and the sauce.
Turn over the chicken pieces gently, trying to not tear the flesh off of the bone. By turning the chicken pieces over you help the pieces to get browned and to get exposed to the spices. Make sure that all the pieces get bathed in the oil and with the spices.
Keep cooking the dish and gently turning the pieces until it gets as "dry" as you desire it. In the end you will only have some oil and the spices in the bottom of the wok.

Serving

Ladle the chicken into a platter, using the thighs to line the bottom level followed by the drumsticks and the giblets. Use the star cloves to accent the chicken pieces. Garnish with a sprig of parsely or fresh cilantro. Serve with steamed rice and the green vegetable.

Trying to cope in my little corner of the world

America is a big country. Americans are a diverse people. There are pockets of good folks as there are pockets of not-so-good folks. It follows that in every barrel of apples there will be those that are rotten.

But how do the clean and not yet rotted apples cope when the rottenness is broadcast not only through close proximity of the rotten apple but also by the press and the media?

We no longer have a free press to champion the truth. We no longer have the media functioning as the all-seeing eye to keep things in check. Instead we have a press that is totally owned by the White House. We have media that are disciples of the Left. I have yet to read a truthful account of some newsworthy event printed. I have yet to hear an unbiased news and investigative commentary of how this administration is so rapidly eroding our economic system of free enterprise turning it into a bankrupt, penniless and profligate house.

What is totally damning is the oblivious population that remains blind and deaf to all these things happening around them. What kind of event will wake up fellow Americans from their sugar-induced slumber? Another terrorist attack? Pestilence? Famine? Confiscation of their firearms? The silencing of conservative Talk Radio? They would just as soon watch all the television over-coverage of the death of Michael Jackson rather than call their representatives to let them know that the Cap and Trade bill is bad legislation. I made my phone call to my representative. He assured me he would vote NO.

In my little corner of the world, I feel only comfort and peace amid all the national turbulence of legislative bartering of votes to pass a destructive bill, such as, the Cap and Trade. The common citizen however, goes on with his or her life as usual - no voltage surges and spikes to rock his home PC systems, she can still watch Oprah on TV, and the kids can still play video games. Whatever is happening in Washington, DC is of no concern to the people. Never mind that the administration and the majority Democratic Congress are always trying to raise taxes in an effort to fuel their own over-spending binges.

With the passing of each B. Hussein Obama day, it is getting harder and harder to cope. There is so much stealth going on at the hands of this president it is incredible. Congress is a rubber stamp. The Republicans have been rendered impotent by Nancy Pelosi. There is hardly any resistance from anybody anymore. Still this president signs Executive Orders bypassing his rubber stamp Congress to pass his programs, like the $20 billion for the Hamas terrorists to be repatriated to the US. For another thing, I think Hussein Obama doesn't want to wind up owing so much goodwill from Nancy Pelosi that is why he is bypassing Congress. Clever!

CrAP & TRADE

I heard Nancy Pelosi scream victoriously at the passing of this "Sh*t bill" according to Congressman Boehner. What does this mean to me? From what I have been able to glean from reading news bits and pieces, this bill is a tax on energy use based on the false assumption that global warming is indeed happening as caused by humans. Simply stated, we consumers are going to be taxed when we emit CO2, when we use electricity, when we run our cars, when we breath in and out. Farmers will pay taxes when their cows emit flatulence, when they use their mechanized farm implements, and when they grow certain crops. Utility companies will be taxed heavily for using coal. Manufacturing firms will have to lessen their use of energy so that they don't emit so much CO2.

Good Lord! In this case, what will happen to America, the most industrialized country in the world? Are we going to turn into a land of languishing factories, farms allowed to lay fallow, a land of bicycle riders and street walkers? Will utility companies be able to survive such Draconian tax increases for them to operate? How will consumers afford to pay for their utility bills? How will this legislation affect the jobless rate? How will this legislation of more taxes help revive the economy?

And back to the most fundamental root cause for this tax bill - global warming - isn't this the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people? Clearly this administration thinks that today's American people are the dumbest they have ever seen. Why should the administration think otherwise when the general public remains silent even as they are being sodomized by the administration and Congress? Where is the outrage people?

Hurry, Hurry, Hurry

To watch the Democrats rush through Congress their favorite bills is dizzying. It gives me the impression that the Democrats know something about what's going to happen tomorrow and it ain't necessarily pretty. For why would they be rushing things through? Where is the fire? Where is the emergency? Ah yes. The government is broke and they need to raise taxes and/or to print more money. That is why they are rushing this CAP & TRADE hu-ha put together by Mr. Wax-in the Nostril-man himself.

Mr. and Mrs. America, let us say, "Wait! Hold it. Not so fast. Let us read and scrutinize the contents of your voluminous work." Remember what happened to the Porkulos Bill that nobody read but signed? Are we looking like a nation of idiots and sheep or what?

I don't get it. The economy is tanking and all the Democrats do is to raise taxes. Here's Obama who is using ABC as his infomercial network. I remember the Ross Perot infomercials; they were far more interesting than this Obama "read the teleprompter" hogging of the limelight. Did I watch the Messiah's cajoling of the public? NO... and hell no! I have had it with this charlatan. I have never seen anybody who is so in love with his own voice and likeness on screen that he literally has to make pronouncements every damn day - not to mention television appearances. And now that he has his own network in the White House - lookout!

I say give this guy his own reality show on TV. Give him a contract. "How to Lie to the Public," or "How to Do as I say but not as I do!" How long will America endure this Simple Simon?

I Don't Understand How Obama Got In...

Aren't the Democrats the least bit concerned that their candidate - whether a majority of them chose him or not, or whether the media chose him for them or not - the All knowing, the All merciful, the Lord Barack Hussein Obama lacks the experience to run for this high office?

So, how did he get into this position of running for POTUS? Or is Geraldine Ferraro correct in her assessment that Barack Obama is where he is only because he is black? She may have been right in bringing this up to the forefront seeing as how the media have been fawning, fumbling all over and cuddling this president-wanna-be.

I feel at a loss. Is this the best America can do? To nominate an inexperienced person to the highest office in the land? Why? I am just a plain, garden variety citizen with no connections and I know of people more qualified to run for this office other than Barack Obama. What is wrong with the system? For one, Hillary Clinton would have been a better qualified candidate than Barack Obama. Why did the voting Democrats not support Hillary Clinton?

Who are this people who are singlehandly dictating who is to be nominated and who isn't going to be supported?

Tripes and Trilibags

"Mas menudo. Andale. Y... por favor, una helado Dos Equis..."

Our garcon darts to the kitchen and brings out a steaming bowl of that most tasty Mexican dish - the Menudo. I can see the jalapeno peppers, the bloated hominy of white corn kernels just bursting with flavor, the cilantro sprigs and the most important ingredient - the beef tripes. The scent of cumin fills the air and such savory smells and aromas only experienced in a rancho cucina!

Don Juan Diego emerges from his seat behind the cash register. He was counting some of the receipts from the previous morning. "Buenos dias Caballeros... como esta... how you like the food, eh?"

We managed to nod our heads. Our mouths were full of food so we couldn't even talk. "Senor Diego! Mucho gusto!"

Okay, well... what are tripes and trilibags exactly? They are the cow's stomach. There are four chambers in a cow's stomach.

Here are some pictures so you'll be able to shop for some just in case you would like to spice up your football viewing parties with a bowl of menudo!

Top is the "Toweltripe". The least expensive of the three types of tripe, it is also the toughest and the more abundant.

The middle picture is the "Book tripe". Named so because it has "pages"... by far the most expensive kind of tripe. It is sliced super thin when used in Vietnamese soups.

The last one and the bottom is the famous "Honeycomb tripe" and if you look at it closely you'll know why it is called so. It is expensive, tasty and lends to good presentation of the cooked food product.

Note how patiently the trombone section, the reeds, and the entire orchestra works its way up to the climactic phrases descending to the statement of fulfillment at the end. Stan Kenton's group was an incubator of jazz talent, not only instrumental soloists and performers but also composers and arrangers.

Maynard Ferguson, Pete Rugulo, Kai Winding, Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan - these names come to mind when I remember Stan Kenton's orchestra. I also remember my uncle who, on a weekly basis, would just wait in line to buy his copy of the latest Stan Kenton musical recording - remember the old 78 rpm wax records - at the local sheet music store.

Stan Kenton played music with unequaled artistry and passion.

A Nation Without Borders

Don't you just love it - I mean the diverse population of our country? Where else in the world can you go and sample German cuisine, or Greek, or Lithuanian cuisine without going overseas? Heck, just stumble along the main drag in the windy city of Chicago, or amble down the Avenue of the Americas in Los Angeles and you will find the cuisine you are looking for. This is America! There is no place like it in the world.

But anymore, America as we have known it for some time, is being erased from the very maps that used to highlight it. There is talk about combining Mexico, the US and Canada into one great big nation with common perimeters, common security interests and common prosperity interests. We are going to be called the United Nations of North America or UNNA. We will be connected by an international freeway and for money we will spend Ameros.

I've always dreamed of having a vacation home in the plateaus of Guadalajara, high up there in the clouds, overlooking the city of Mexico. There I can use my small savings to hire me a maid, a gardener, a cook, a masseuse, even a chauffer. I can raise my own fighting cocks and engage in the grand Spanish pastime of cockfighting, eat tacos and burritos, drink tequila and ask the local mariachi band to serenade me to sleep each evening. In my yard I will grow my own mangoes and papayas and have the local help pick the fruit when harvest time comes. And I don't have to mess with ICE fat cats because there will be no illegal aliens in my employ.

Of course I will have to learn to speak Spanish - perhaps even un poco - so that I can mosey on down to Rosa's cantina and have a good conversation. Maybe this idea of open borders and the unabated incursion of illegal aliens into the United States is good. Just think. Now I am learning to "press 2 for Espanish" and the art of how to holler, "Si se puede" like Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy loves to do out in front of the assembled illegal alien throng - in between sips of his gin and tonic. What a deal...

Speaking of Jazz. . . These Foolish Things

1959. . . things were so much simpler then. 26 cents for a gallon of gas and 16 cents for a pound of chicken. Two bits went a long way. The one thing that I remember most is the music of jazz that swept the college campuses. Of course Charlie Parker set the standard on the Alto Saxophone, this I know - how it was supposed to be played, the artistry, etc.

But in my humble opinion no one can match the velvet sounds of Paul Desmond on the alto saxophone. His melodic lines are never obscured by just peeps and squeaks, I mean, these are melodious strains that come out in one string of well connected phrases, riffs, and articulations.

The Dave Brubeck Quartet took the college campuses by storm with their rendition of Take Five but let me tell you something. These Foolish Things is a ballad worth savoring.

Generosity gone wrong...

The generosity of the American people knows no bounds. Regardless of the cause they are there in the forefront lending their personal support and financial backing. Whether it is to save the old oak trees in the town square, or to save the old historical homes of a veritable ghost town, or whether it is to save the poor animals stranded during the recent floods, American generosity keeps pouring in. It's not only in the form of money but also in the form of volunteer services, food, medical supplies, outreach. Americans just can't seem to do enough when it comes to charitable works. In fact American charity is not contained and limited by the geographical boundaries of the nation. It is dispensed worldwide.

But why are Americans - in their generosity toward others - considered "ugly Americans" by the same peoples that receive these generous gifts and favors? It's almost as if Uncle Sam's hand is constantly being bitten by those same critters who feed from that generous hand. And still America keeps the donations flowing - no one has turned off the spigot - and even those countries that would just as soon kill us as to be our friends do receive a trickle or two. Could this fall under "careless" handling of resources, or "profligacy" on the part of the US government?

Famous economist Walter E. Williams and colorful speaker behind the golden EIB microphone courtesy of the vacationing Rush Limbaugh often opines, "It is okay for me personally, in an act of kindness and charity, to give my money to a needy total stranger. But it is not okay for the government to come to me, take the money out of my pocket even if it is to distribute it to the needy total stranger. That is robbery!"

How can America control its seemingly indiscriminate redistribution of wealth? Maybe we ought to listen to Neal Boortz talk about the fair tax.

Gratitude

A friend of mine just got back from a three-day hospital stay. He had surgery to correct one of his spine disks that had gone bad. I spoke to him briefly on the telephone.

"The pain," he said, "is way too intense. I have never felt pain like this before."

I didn't quite know what to say, - how to react. I remained silent. Thinking.

"You there?" came the voice on the other end of the line.

"Yes... I'm here," I blurted back.

"Ya know, not a one of the girls came by to wish me well before I went in to be cut up." He was referring to the three girls he and his wife had raised ever since they were toddlers, abandoned by their alcoholic mother. "Not a one came by to welcome me back home either."

I became more contemplative, reflecting on the gravity of his feelings and the implications of his concerned voice. I knew their family. This friend had been more than a loving father to these girls. He had raised them to be good, caring Christian people - so I thought.

What would I do if I were in his shoes? I would probably be steaming. What kind of gratitude is this? But I am going to restrain myself from going any further with my own feelings. I need to talk to the girls to find out their side of the story.
